A new boost for the expansion of fast-charging infrastructure: Energie AG partners with da emobil
A milestone in the expansion of e-mobility in Austria
Linz, 1 April, 2025. To further drive forward the expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure in Austria, Energie AG is entering into a partnership with da emobil GmbH. The Tyrolean company was founded in Innsbruck in 2017 and has since been working on innovative electric mobility solutions across Austria.
Following in-depth discussions on strategic cooperation, a contract was signed in February 2025 for the acquisition of a majority stake in da emobil by Energie AG. The partnership was reviewed by the Federal Competition Authority, and regulatory approval has now been granted. The partnership between Energie AG and da emobil was finalised at the close of the deal at the end of March.
“There is no getting away from electrification. Electric cars account for around 20 percent of new car registrations in Austria. We are on the right track and must support sustainable electric mobility by providing the necessary charging infrastructure,” says Leonhard Schitter, CEO of Energie AG.
Energie AG and da emobil see e-mobility as a major growth area and aim to help shape the market in Austria and neighbouring countries. “Our goal is to establish Energie AG among the leading providers and to drive e-mobility forward as a frontrunner,” said Christian Nemeth, Managing Director of Energie AG Sales, and Alois Wach, Managing Director of da emobil. The two managing directors are placing particular emphasis on the further development of the public charging network and on charging solutions for businesses – for both cars and lorries.
“The conditions for e-mobility remain very favourable in Austria and internationally. The range of electric car models is growing rapidly, and competition among vehicle manufacturers is offering our customers a wide choice alongside falling vehicle prices. Electric vehicles have also become an integral part of the logistics and bus sectors,” Nemeth points out.
Through this strategic partnership, the two companies aim to become one of the key drivers behind the expansion of electric mobility in Austria and to establish themselves as leading solution providers and charging station installers and operators. “Austria already has one of the densest public charging station networks, and we are working every day to improve it further,” adds Wach.
Energie AG and da emobil: A strong partnership for a fast-charging network in Austria
Energie AG is continuing to drive forward the expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure in Austria and is securing a leading position in the market through a strategic majority stake in da emobil GmbH. With the approval and the closing on 31 March 2025, the partnership has been officially sealed – a milestone for electric mobility in Austria.
Shaping the e-mobility market together
Energie AG has been committed to electric mobility for years and invests specifically in sustainable charging infrastructure. It has now gained a strong partner in da emobil GmbH, one of Austria’s largest e-mobility service providers.
“Our aim is to take e-mobility in Austria to the next level. Together, we want to massively expand the public charging network and develop innovative, bespoke charging solutions for businesses,” explain Christian Nemeth, Managing Director of Energie AG Vertrieb, and Alois Wach, Managing Director of da emobil.
